NYC SHUT DOWN ON TUESDAY MARCH 17TH 2020.

DURING MY LAST GROCERY RUN TO EATALY DOWNTOWN, I TOOK A PICTURE OUTSIDE THE OCULUS, WHAT USED TO BE A SUPER BUSY/ VIBRANT PLACE, FULL OF PEOPLE, WAS NOW EMPTY…

FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I ARRIVED IN NEW YORK, I WAS NOT RUNNING AGAINST TIME , IN FACT I HAD TONS OF IT NOW.
STARTING THE NEXT DAY I WOULD GO AND WANDER THROUGH THIS DESERTED CITY.

THERE WAS SOMETHING VERY UNUSUAL, SURREAL ABOUT THE QUIETNESS OF THESE STREETS.

IT WAS THERE & THEN THAT I DECIDED TO GO ON THIS JOURNEY OF 112 DAYS EXPLORING DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOODS TO CAPTURE THE CITY THAT WAS PUT ON PAUSE.

WHAT STARTED AS SOMETHING TO OCCUPY MY DAYS, TURNED QUICKLY INTO A VISUAL DIARY OF HOW NEW YORK WAS DURING THE PANDEMIC.
